Diabetic patients on alert in Covid-19 pandemic
Diabetes, one of the most prevalent chronic disease in India. According to a recent survey brought to the fore that sugar levels of diabetic persons were found to be increased by 20% during nationwide lock down. Lock down not only has deleterious effects on metabolic control of the diabetes but also reduced opportunities for exercise & disruption of the regular medical care. Even after lock down was lifted, many people remained confined within their home. So how this has effected? 1. Lockdown has turned many into home bakers leading to increased intake of sweets which is one of the most contributing factor for rise of blood sugar levels 2.
